Duties, Accomplishments and Related Skills:

Perform complex duties as a Field Machinist, fabricating, installing, replacing, troubleshooting, testing, maintaining and repairing various machinery systems and piping. Interpret technical manuals and shop directives to make repairs on marine machinery. Review technical work documents used for repairs of equipment not limited to marine machinery. Disassembled engines and machinery components to determine repairs required. Represent Team Industrial Service (TIS) as a Supervisor, Foreman, or member of the team, on machinery projects in refineries, power plants and chemical plants. Perform bolting and machinery work for customers by interpreting technical manuals, blueprints, sketches, design instructions and other directives to determine methods of repair and installation; make repairs and maintain proper bolt stress for all materials being used. Technical bolting duties includes, but not limited to torqueing and tensioning. Perform counter boring, end preparation, sever and bevel of all schedules and materials of pipes, including exotic metals and heavy wall pipes. Highly proficient with line isolation, employing double blocks, bleed plugs and bag plugs of all sizes. Utilize specialized equipment and tools for hydro testing of equipment and piping during installations and repairs.

Review technical work documents used for repairs and installation to determine accuracy and completeness. Utilize and maintain hand tools, power tools and precision measuring instruments such as calipers and micrometers. Use standard formulas, shop mathematics, trade theories, and industry practices in calculating needed materials for repair and installation of piping, mechanical systems and components.
