Law Clerk Intern
During my internship at the San Francisco Police Accountability Office, I gained valuable insights into the inner workings of an essential government agency dedicated to ensuring transparency, fairness, and accountability within the city's law enforcement system. Throughout my time at the office, I took on a range of responsibilities and contributed to various aspects of its mission. Here are key points of what I did during my internship:
- Policy Advocacy: I collaborated with other intern members to draft policy proposals aimed at improving police accountability and transparency.
- Research and Analysis: Significantly involved conducting research on police policies adding on analyzing data related to police incidents and complaints to identify trends and areas of concern.
- Policy Implementation: I gained the opportunity to experience the real-world impact of the office's work as some of the policy recommendations we developed were implemented by the police department and city government.
- Community Outreach: I actively participated in community outreach programs and events organized by the office. This included attending town hall meetings and engaging with community members.
- Administrative Support: I drafted emails, brochures, and other marketing materials, and preparing presentations and reports for senior management team members.
