Graduated high school, immediately entered Tyson's 1+2 Industrial Maintenance Program.

Worked in general and building maintenance for eight months while simultaneously taking classes as part of the program.

• Responsible for maintenance in multiple parts of plant
• Making adjustments, repairs to equipment, troubleshooting electrical problems, and wiring
• Using hand and power tools
• Welding using three methods, stick, tig, and mig welding and cutting using acetylene torches
• Obtained proper Lockout/Tagout, Forklift, and Confined Space training
• Complying with Tyson safety, OSHA standards, GMP and SQF requirements

Applied and accepted as refrigeration maintenance after completing the program.

Troubleshooting, repairing, maintaining, and monitoring central plant systems such as:

• Steam boilers
• Glycol distillation units
• Compressed air units
• Ammonia refrigeration equipment, evaporators, condensers, and compressors

Specific duty was effectively running, shutting down, and monitoring the plant blast freezer.

• Troubleshooting, repairing, maintaining, and monitoring NH3 compressors, evaporators, condensers, and other ammonia equipment for that area
• Completing preventative maintenance, and jobs safely, and efficiently
• Filling out round sheets, log entries, leak reports, PM documents, and verifying SOPs
• Worked 12 hour shifts (both night, and day) in varying environments.
• Hazmat trained, familiar with NH3 PPE, full face respirator, self-contained breathing apparatus, ammonia rated gloves.

Worked a flexible schedule while finishing school.

• Operated cash register, handling cash, and checking for fraudulent bills.
• Assisted around customers with scanning/bagging groceries, refunds, returns, transaction problems, and joining rewards programs.
• Befriended coworkers and common customers, familiarizing them and welcoming them to store.
• Provided support for other departments when in need.
• Helped stock shelves lifting items up to 40 pounds.

Started this position as a weekend dishwasher while continuing school.

• Quickly, and efficiently cleaned, sanitized, and organized dishes, silverware, and glassware.

• Kept team morale up by cleaning and organizing work area in my free time.

About four months in, I was given the opportunity to work as a dietary aide.

• Assisted main cook with preparing cold and hot meals for around 90 residents.
• Keep food stations and work area clean, sanitized and clear of debris.
• Followed necessary safety practices put in place by Lutheran Homes.
• Worked with coworkers and dieticians to provide nourishing, safe food for residents.
• Served food in responsible, friendly, attractive manor while befriending and greeting residents.
