Capital Humane Society - Foster Program  New Bern NC

Raised litters of kittens and puppies for adoption for a local animal rescue group  May 2019-August 2022

· Organized the socializing, vetting, and caring for litters of kittens over 3 years.

· Participated in adoption events. Identified individual kitten personalities and advocated for lifelong placements into appropriate homes with perspective adopters.

Appalachian Service Project   New Bern, NC

Christian ministry “makes homes warmer, safer drier” for poverty-stricken families in central Appalachia  July 2018, 2019

· Traveled with a team of volunteers from Garber Church to rural Kentucky to repair homes for 7 days.

· Cohabitated in a high school gym with teams from other churches, sleeping on cots and showering via hose.

· Acquired new skills to repair homes, build safe decks, install new siding, replace windows, paint, and lay concrete.

· Collaborated with a team of 6 teens and two adults to complete the home repairs quickly and correctly.

· Interacted respectfully with the home owners and their extended families to make their homes “warmer, safer, and drier” while respecting their ongoing lives.

Volunteer Vacation Bible School Counselor Garber Methodist Church   New Bern, NC

Various activities while engaged in Youth Group    July 2017, August-December  2018

· Led the outside activities for vacation bible school ages 3-8 yrs old, collaborated with a team of four other teens, kept the campers safe, engaged and taught.

· Acted as Substitute Tutor in the afterschool program for at-risk elementary students.

· Participated in various clean up activities organized by our youth minister (beach clean up, hurricane clean up, local park clean up).
