  • Owned all components of the employee health, welfare and benefit programs including all aspects of benefits administration and open enrollment for 225 employees at multiple locations: health, dental and vision insurance enrollment, changes, cancellations, COBRA, HRA accounts, 401k and EAP.
  • Provided guidance to managers and employees on talent management, payroll, FMLA and benefits.
  • Coached managers through employee relations, discipline, documentation, and creation and execution of performance improvement plans.
  • Enhanced employee satisfaction by implementing effective communication strategies and open-door policies.
  • Managed all employer leaves including FMLA, Worker's Comp, STD and LTD including coordination of leave, notifying employees of rights and responsibilities and manager communication.
  • Oversaw all HR financials including Payroll for both companies as well as Benefits audits/reconciliations. Acted as A/P and A/R backup for the retail half of the business.
  • Owned the post-req hiring process for up to 500 seasonal and cyclical new hires each year including: recruiting, screening, selection, reference and background checks, new hire drug testing and onboarding.
  • Planned, prepared and facilitated quarterly employee safety meetings in accordance with state and federal OSHA requirements and insurance guidelines.
  • Created a pandemic response plan during the swine flu outbreaks which, later during COVID, resulted in minimal downtime and illness, as well as minimal supply chain disruption.
