- Evaluated and treated a wide range of conditions, including generalized weakness, arthritis, Alzheimer’s disease, spinal cord and head injuries, amputations, Parkinson’s disease, stroke, covid-19 infections, as well as other neurologic, cardiovascular and orthopedic conditions
- Monitored and recorded patient progress in response to therapy to reflect skill and efficacy of treatment provided
- Educated patients and family members regarding diagnosis, injury prevention, therapeutic treatments, progress toward goal attainment and discharge planning
- Recommended equipment and in-home modifications
- Provided annual in-services to all hospital staff on use of proper body mechanics
- Coordinated monthly journal club meetings among OT staff to promote evidence-based interventions
- Routinely used electrical stimulation, ultrasound, transcutaneous nerve stimulation and paraffin bath as indicated to improve patients’ physical health to promote mobility, ADL and IADL performance
- Supervised level 1 and level 2 occupational therapy and COTA students.
