- Problem solver: Often assigned to critical machine breakdowns in the mine, observed the situation and developed and acted out a recovery plan to get operations up and running again. The goal was always to save critical operations time and continue movement of production.
- Mechanical aptitude: Diagnosed breakdown of various mining equipment. For example a haulage truck was down in the pit with the dump bed stuck in the air, studied the hydraulics schematic and found a bypass valve to release hydraulic flow to the tank and lower the bed. This allowed the daily blast schedule to commence, saving valuable daily production and cost.
- Team Leader: On a daily basis I ran the shop. This required me to motivate, train and lead my team members. Resulted in a unified group of workers who trusted and supported one another benefiting the company with lower costs, higher production.
