Aircraft Assembler B
Formerly employed at Boeing SC in Building 19, Cell 260 as an Aircraft Assembler B. Duties include assemble and install aircraft framing, carbon splices and framing bracket assemblies. Trained at Trident Technical College in the use composite materials. Additional duties on the job include sweep and fill (repairing composite materials from defective holes and tool marks etc.) This process involves applying the adhesive material in the defective hole, installing an overlay, heat lamp application time, then fairing and sanding composite material. Volunteered to be the cell 260 safety focal. Attend weekly safety meetings with the Boeing safety officer discussing onsite improvements to reduce accidents and lost work days. Fortunately no recorded accidents or lost work days in cell. Experienced in precision test and measurement tools. Cell uses measurement tools such as fed max and calipers to accurately measure diameter of composite and titanium holes drilled.
Chief Machinery Technician
Senior Enlisted member served aboard USCGC Bluefin and Yellowfin as the Engineer Officer. Held responsible for the execution of the ship's material readiness plus equipment maintenance and repair. Qualified as Engineer of the Watch to operate, conduct proper casualty control procedures, train subordinates and maintain multi million dollar shipboard engineering plants. Appointed unit Safety Officer. Responsible for the safety of the ship from fire, flooding, collision and safety of personnel. Appointed onboard Electrical Officer. Experienced in repairing ship service diesel generators, electrical switchboards, AC and DC current systems throughout the cutter. Responsible for it's use and accuracy of the electrical tag out log required onboard. Served as chairman on safety board meetings held quarterly. Identified safety issues and procedures to correct them. Served at Naval Engineering Support Unit Charleston as a shipyard inspector. Organized pre-shipyard availability and conducted quality control inspections on Coast Guard vessels during the availability. Shipyard inspection duties included: liaison between shipyards and the government, monitor availability progress, conduct non destructive testing (NDT), paint inspector, quality control and ship safety inspections.

Supervised an engineering division of six for the maintenance and repair of the ships air conditioning and refrigeration, cutter small boats, helo (JP-5 fuel) and ships refueling detail. Performed duties of Law Enforcement Boarding Officer. Enforced all federal immigration, counter narcotics and fisheries laws pertaining to US vessels.
