Dr. Donald E. English is an accomplished educational executive, student advocate, and equity leader with more than 30 years of experience serving students, families, schools, and communities throughout San Bernardino County and California. His career includes service as a classroom teacher, principal, county educational administrator, department director, and statewide professional leader.

Dr. English serves as Director of Children Deserve Success with the San Bernardino County Superintendent of Schools, leading programs that support students experiencing homelessness, students in foster care, and at-promise youth. He collaborates with school districts, government agencies, law enforcement, community organizations, and families to remove barriers to educational access, engagement, attendance, and achievement.

He also serves as Executive Director of the San Bernardino Countywide Gangs and Drugs Task Force and as Trustee and Board President of the Chaffey Joint Union High School District. His statewide leadership includes service with the California Association of Supervisors of Child Welfare and Attendance and participation on WASC accreditation teams.

Don also earned a Master’s degree in Educational Administration from California State University, San Bernardino, and a bachelor’s degree from the University of California, Berkeley.
