Job description: Fire protection layout technician. Responsibilities were either take the architects plan or do a field survey to provide drawings and hydraulic calculations for permits. Coordinate pipe layout with the general contractor and subcontractors to create a working plan for installation. Then provide a fabrication and loose material lists. Coordinate delivery date with our project manager and the general contractor. The design, calculations and fabrication lists were made by Autosprink23 and Microsoft office.

Job descriptions : Estimating, Fire Protection Designer, Fabricator, and Installer. As an estimator I would either work off the architects plan or walk through the project to provide a quote for the design, materials, labor and permits fees to either the owner or general contractor. As a fire protection designer I would take either the architects drawings or a site visit to provide drawings and hydraulic calculations for permits. Than coordinate the design with the general contractor and subcontractors for a install drawings. As a fabricator I would take random pipe cut to proper size thread and add a fitting or groove the pipe as required for the situation. Than as a installer I would install the pipe per plans any modifications were noted and sent out as the as-built. At the end of the project we would test the system for any problems and ring the alarms for the Fire Marshall. Design were drawn in Autocad 19 and calculations were on the Walsh program.
