• Primary authority on all quality related matters with assigned supplier(s) / area of responsibility.

• Planning and implementation of First Article Review activities for new projects.
• Production line support on Quality related matters, e.g. MRBs and investigation of non-conformities.
• Product audits/despatch audits defining and allocating corrective and preventative actions.
• Build standard reconciliation to customer's and contract requirements.
• Customer liaison with respect to acceptance of product and control of design changes.
• Generation / approval of concessions .
• Failure analysis of defective components and associated technical reports.
• Onsite acceptance of sub contract manufactured products (surface mount boards, wired sub assemblies etc.).
• Internal systems audits.
• Production line support to resolve assembly problems.
• Design liaison with respect to highlighting design errors and recommending solutions.
• Deciding/agreeing implementation of design changes (point of embodiment, modification of existing products and cost implications).

Following on from a 4 year Mechanical Engineering apprenticeship I joined the Quality Department.

• Investigated customer complaints to address areas of improvement, eliminate non-conformance and increase customer satisfaction.
• Defined corrective actions for non-conforming products and complaints for continued quality improvements.
• Audited existing operational practices, proactively challenging and implementing improvement to ensure compliance and growth.
• Seconded to Process Engineering to assist with statistical analysis of line and test defects.
