Work History

Product Support Manager

Chinook Helicopter Project Office, PEO Aviation
Redstone Arsenal, AL
03.2008 - Current
  • For the Chinook Helicopter Project Office (CHPO) for the past 13 years
  • In that position, I am responsible for managing and allocating logistics personnel resources across the project office
  • This includes hiring civilian personnel, developing manpower requirements for supplemental contract personnel, organizing those personnel into appropriate teams, and allocating their workload as necessary to meet missions and goals
  • The total number of personnel has varied between 35 - 70, depending on budgetary constraints
  • The main goal of my logistics teams is to support the acquisition, fielding, and sustainment of the Chinook helicopters to the soldiers in the field
  • That is done through developing and updating logistics acquisition, fielding, and support plans; maintaining the helicopter operations and maintenance manuals; and continuously helping soldiers find parts or providing them with necessary equipment to do their jobs
  • In addition, I am charged with developing feasible options to increase the readiness of the CH-47 helicopter fleet; control or reduce operations and support costs of the helicopter; and reduce maintenance burden on soldiers in the field
  • One of the main ways this has been accomplished is through a project I initiated to develop an optimized scheduled maintenance program for the helicopter fleet
  • This involved working with multiple organizations, design and reliability engineers, large amounts of data, and ultimately providing training to the soldiers in the field, followed by consistent communications with them to answer their questions
  • Without a doubt, that project has been the most satisfying of my career because it brought tangible value to the organization and our ultimate customers, the soldiers in the field.
