  • Qualified on all control positions within RAPCON facility: Designated FWS, Tower Supervisor, Local Control, Ground Control, Flight Data, Radar Supervisor, Approach Control, Special Use Airspace Control(Desert Control), Radar Final Control, and Radar Data. On-the Job Training Instructor (OJTI), provided training to controllers to evaluate performance, capabilities, and progress in a complex ATC environment. Ensured proper procedures and techniques for the separation of aircraft and the use of ATC equipment.
  • Provided IFR, VFR, and SVFR radar and non-radar services to aircraft to include weather, runway information, type of approach, lost communication, and missed approach procedures. Ensured safe departure and arrival of aircraft in highly complex Approach Control Facility seeing over 275,000 operations annually. Conducted Control Tower operations, ensuring aircraft separation, navigational guidance and landing sequence. Utilized communication equipment coordinating with pilots and adjacent facilities to ensure proper compliance of all Air Traffic Control rules and transfer of control responsibilities. Document and accumulate initial mishap and incident records and forward records to ATCF officer.
  • Deftly managed employees in the prioritizing, de-conflictions and reservation of more than 80,000 annual Special Use Airspace events and over 40,000 annual sorties flown on Military Training Routes.
  • Supervised 29 total military and civilian personnel within the four branches of the ATC Facility, Administration, Flight Planning, Tower and Radar. Rated performance, approved leave, established policy and procedures, assigned tasks, monitored workloads, set priorities, resolved problems and measured results.
  • Responsible for the management of the Air Traffic Control Facility and 25 Sailors operating over $45M in Radar and communication equipment. Molded the 25 diverse individual personalities into a highly motivated and productive team that accomplished more than 275,000 annual mishap-free flight operations and was instrumental to the division’s success during the 2024 COMNAVAIFORCES ATC Quality Assurance NATOPS evaluation.
