Client relations:

• Educate clients on proper pet nutrition, health maintenance and preventive medicine - dentistry, vaccines,general animal husbandry, discuss routine laboratory tests.
• Interview owners regarding animal symptoms to ascertain potential conditions and illnesses.
• Support reception staff - answer phone calls, schedule appointments, maintain client communications.
• Review pet records from daily visits and appointments, entering important data into system.
• Filled prescriptions for patients and explained possible side effects to pet owners.

Nursing Care:

• Provide compassionate medical care to hospitalized animals. Monitor animal behavior for any changes or abnormalities that may indicate illness or injury.
• Record patient histories, vital signs and treatments in medical records.
• Restrain and assist in outpatient and inpatient treatments.
• Obtain blood samples from animals through venipuncture or catheterization techniques.
• Document all treatments performed in accordance with hospital protocols.
• Utilized Fear-Free techniques to mitigate anxiety and keep animals calm.
