As a volunteer worker for Next Steps Organization, I had a rewarding experience serving as a mentor for the Phase 3 young girls and boys of the urban community. My main role was to assist in teaching them about setting and achieving goals, developing leadership skills, and instilling self pride and worth within themselves. Throughout my time with the organization, I witnessed significant growth and positive changes in the young girls and boys. By conducting workshops and organizing various interactive activities, I was able to guide them in creating realistic goals and mapping out actionable steps to achieve them. It was inspiring to see their enthusiasm and determination to pursue their dreams. In addition to goal setting, I emphasized the importance of leadership and empowered them to become leaders within their community. Through team-building exercises and leadership development sessions, I witnessed the young girls and boys gaining confidence in their abilities and taking charge of various initiatives. One of the most fulfilling aspects of this experience was helping the young girls and boys build a sense of self pride and worth. Many of them had previously struggled with low self-esteem and lack of confidence. Through personal mentorship and encouragement, I witnessed a transformation in their self-perception. They began to believe in their own potential and recognize their worth, which positively impacted their academic performance and personal relationships. Overall, my rewarding experience as a volunteer mentor for Next Steps Organization allowed me to make a tangible difference in the lives of the Phase 3 young girls and boys. Witnessing their growth, resilience, and newfound self-confidence was truly inspiring, and it reaffirmed my commitment to serving my community and fostering positive change.
