2009: Became member of the Excellent Stroke Program SIG (Special Interest Group) and participated in activities leading to Wentworth-Douglass Hospital becoming Joint Commission certified for stroke care.
2010: Participated in SIG workgroup to develop the Stroke Toolkit which is a comprehensive patient/family education and resource tool.
2011: Served as unit champion to educate staff on proper use/documentation of Stroke Toolkit.
2012: Helped prepare staff for successful Joint Commission survey and met with surveyors. Helped educate staff on stroke/TIA pathways. Led a workgroup for the inpatient nursing care portion of a multidisciplinary stroke case study, and then presented to staff in May and then to other agencies in November.
2013: Worked with other SIG members to develop stroke education video which was completed at the beginning of 2014 as an enhancement to the stroke toolkit.
2016: Completed the John's Hopkins Guided Care training.
2021: Completed Serious Illness Conversation training.
2022-2025: Participated in Quality Improvement project aimed at incorporating SMART goals, (Specific, Measurable, Attainable, Relevant, Time-bound) into patient's plan of care, and utilizing motivational interviewing techniques to elicit SMART goals from patients.
2023-2025: Clinical case review lead for all care managers, facilitating monthly case reviews.
