• Rail operator: operating trains for passengers through the Chicago system
• Switch worker: moving trains in and around the yard, putting trains in service and taking trains out of service, adding and cutting trains for service, putting in and removing trains in and out of the rail shop for services
• Moving switches for trains to go to the right line up/track
• Flagman: assisting trains through work zones for contractors
• Customer assistance: assisting customers with payment on and off the trains/buses.. and also with directions

• Clean and maintain docks and harbor
• Pull out and install buoys
• Maintain docks for the season
• Run and maintain ice rinks in the winter time
• Lay paint and make ice
• Rent ice skates and maintain ice rinks
