Donovin Mays

Here I design heat exchange coils for both nuclear and non-nuclear applications. I work directly with the engineering team to create models and blueprints of various types of coils that range from heating to cooling applications depending on what the customer needs. I work with ASME and ANSI code applications to determine the materials needed for specific applications and design the coils based on the necessary size and heating/cooling requirements given by customers. I have worked with nuclear power plants around the world including Duke energy, Constellations, TVA, Ontario Power, and many more to deliver the most optimal heat exchanger for their desired application.

• Here I oversaw making sure all of the inventory was stocked and up to date. I maintained a level of organization and cleanliness within the parts warehouse I worked in, and I oversaw all parts coming in and going out. this included working directly with vendors to ensure we were getting parts and materials in a timely manner as well as getting them at the best prices possible. I also developed an inventory system that they are still using to this day that allows for constant monitoring of inventory levels in order to ensure no parts or materials went missing due to negligence.

• In the copy and print area of the store I assumed duties such as taking orders for copy and print jobs, cut papers, bind books, create banners and posters, etc. From there I moved over to the "EasyTech" side of the store where I worked directly with customers to diagnose and fix any issues with their computers, tablets, printers, and more.

• At this job my main task was making blueprints for the production floor for the custom fabrication of various parts depending on what the customer needed. I also learned how to program the machines used such as the laser cutter, Waterjet and Punch break. Here I also learned many computer skills that have aided me in both engineering, drafting/design and everyday applications.
