I have completed two sessions of Aspiring Leaders with the School Leadership Center at the University of New Orleans, focusing on real school improvement and quality school leadership.

Wright High School in New Orleans, I’ve learned that effective school leadership is extremely critical in creating a culture which ensures that all students are provided the necessary skills and knowledge to compete in a diverse and global society. As a teacher and Leadership Team member at Lake Area Early College High School in New Orleans as well as teaching at St. Tammany Junior High School, I understand the benefits of having strong relationships with students, parents, and staff. Students may have entered my classroom unwilling to learn but left with a zest and hunger for high academic achievement. I believe that I can transfer this knowledge to this position.
