In the process of completing over 500 practicum hours at NMSD. Responsible for lesson planning, creating materials, and teaching classes for first and second-grade ELA classes.

• Research Assistant at the Lex and LAVA labs. Responsibilities include training other RAs on how to code data, coding video data, leading data collection sessions, creating training systems, and more.

• Long-term substitute teacher for Art and Biliteracy from May to June, Extended-School-Year Program teacher for first and second grade from June to August, and per diem sub from September to December. Responsibilities include lesson planning, preparing materials, collecting data, writing progress reports, collaborating with a team, communicating with parents, managing behavior, and individualizing instruction.

• Teaching Assistant for Emily Glenn-Smith’s course, Deaf History and Culture. Responsibilities included taking attendance, answering emails, and assisting with grading assignments.

• First-grade class teacher in a publicly funded charter school in Texas. Daily responsibilities include lesson planning, IEP annotations, utilizing SEL tools with students, teaching social studies, science, math, co-teaching ELA, and more. Completed and successfully implemented PAX Good Behavior Training in my first-grade classroom.

• Group leader at a Title I school, Menchaca Elementary. Applied curriculum, led SEL activities and discussions, administered intensive behavior management, and substituted as site leader.

• Assisted a UT Austin Ph.D. student in analyzing video data. Used ELAN to annotate videos of an emerging sign language from Zinacantán, Mexico.

• Provided exceptional customer service for Deaf, DeafBlind, and hearing customers at a Deaf-owned and operated restaurant.
