I was nominated and received the Daisy Award for outstanding nursing care and compassion. A patient and their family member nominated me for the daisy because quickly identified a decline in the patients condition. I stayed well passed my shift to assist in the coordination and transfer of my patient to a higher level of care all while staying with my patient and his wife explaining the sequence of events that would happen to get my patient transferred.
