Dear Chief Michael O’Brian,
I am excited to submit my application for the full-time firefighter position at Brighton Area Fire Authority. I attended the 2024 Livingston County Fire Academy. During the course I received high end training and gained several qualifications including Fire I & II. I Passed the final Exam with an above class average score receiving a 87%. During the course, I also completed the department OJT and achieved Black Helmet by graduation. I take great pride in being a part of the department with all the work and dedication required to be a FireFighter for the community. My strong work ethic and drive to be the very best I can be is what makes me a strong applicant for this position. At graduation, I was voted by my peers to receive the Top Rung Award. This accomplishment was for being hard working and positively encouraging others to be their very best. I am currently enrolled in the EMT course at Livingston County EMS. My goal is to pass the National Registry exam and become a licensed EMT as quickly as possible. My dedication and commitment to the department demonstrates what the opportunity to serve my community means to me. During the academy, I moved with my fiance to a house that is a mile away from station 33 because I wanted to be the first one responding at every call. Anytime I get to contribute to something with the department is the best hours of my day and I plan to make a career with the Brighton department and dedicate my best efforts to everything I can. In the future, I hope to become a Paramedic to further my knowledge and use for the department and community. I would be honored to bring my passion for firefighting to the department. I look forward to the opportunity to discuss how my background and qualifications needed of this position. Thank you for considering my application.
Sincerely,
Drake Wyman
