  • Alpha Gamma Sigma is a California community college honor society. Our purpose is to foster, promote, maintain, and recognize academic excellence through scholarships. In 1926, Dr. William T. Boyce felt that there was an unmet need for a statewide honor society at the community college level. As head administrator of Fullerton Community College, Dr. Boyce established the California community college honor society that is Alpha Gamma Sigma. Nearly 100 years later nearly every California Community College has an Alpha Gamma Sigma chapter. Dr. Boyce's dream is kept alive by chapters of inspired self-motivated students working to make a difference at their campuses and in surrounding communities.
