I am an enthusiastic and goal-oriented professional with more than a decade of experience in the legal field. My commitment to excellence is reflected in my strong capabilities in managing tasks and delivering outcomes. I thrive in collaborative environments as well as in solo projects. Throughout my career, I have formulated departmental policies while respecting the established hierarchy. During my law enforcement journey, I attained the rank of captain while simultaneously working on a dissertation and restructuring policies to advance the cause of equal justice. This experience inspired me to pursue a role as a judge, where I continue to advocate for fairness and equity in the justice system.
Bill Blackwood Leadership Command College- Huntsville, TX
I am in the process of starting my studies at the Leadership Command College (LCC) of the Bill Blackwood Law Enforcement Management Institute of Texas (LEMIT). This program is nationally recognized as a leading law enforcement management initiative and involves a nine-week commitment spread over two years. It comprises three modules, each lasting three weeks, hosted at Texas A&M University, Sam Houston State University, and Texas Woman’s University.
As part of this state-sponsored program through Sam Houston State University in Huntsville, I have successfully completed the initial online segment. My anticipated start date for the in-person modules is January 2026. The Leadership Command College will cover essential topics, including an introduction to leadership and general management principles, as well as the political, legal, and social contexts of law enforcement. Additionally, it will address overall wellness and, most importantly, law enforcement administration.
The Bill Blackwood Law Enforcement Management Institute of Texas (LEMIT) and its Leadership Command College (LCC) are often likened to the FBI National Academy. The program is specifically designed to equip law enforcement executives with the necessary knowledge and skills for effective leadership in contemporary law enforcement agencies. Given the evolving nature of law enforcement, graduates of the LCC are provided with ongoing professional development opportunities, including access to courses that change every two years.
