Accomplishments

Accomplishments
  • Wrote, implemented, and evaluated two Math/Science Partnership Grants. The first one was funded for a total of $800,000. Partners included Macon State College, Wesleyan College, Museum of Arts and Sciences, and Bibb County School District. The second one was funded for a total of $400,000. Partners included Mercer University, Middle Georgia RESA, and Bibb County School District. Both grants increased teacher content and pedagogical knowledge to increase student achievement in mathematics and science.
  • Partnered with Albany Area Primary Area Health Care, Dougherty County Public Library, Dougherty County Family Literacy Council, Georgia Board of Early Care and Learning, Albany Technical College, and Albany State University to write the L4GA grant in Dougherty County Schools. Total grant was approximately $6,00,000. The grant built partnerships and engaged communities and schools together to strengthen student learning, and train teachers to implement new evidence-based practices in literacy to ensure all students graduate college and career ready.
  • Created a Coaching Handbook in Dougherty County when supervising instructional coaches. Coordinated training and evaluated instructional coaches.
  • Implemented protocols resulting in 100% on-time state sign-off as Director of Assessment and Accountability in Bibb County.
  • Reorganized Curriculum Department in Dougherty County to provide increased support to schools and moved people into positions better suited to their strengths.
  • Led the revamping of EIP in Dougherty County resulting in $1.6 million increased funding and earned 25 additional positions for the district.
  • Increased Star Climate Rating from three to four stars as principal of an elementary school.

  • Georgia School Superintendents Association's District Office Professional Development Program (2017 - 2018). This year-long professional development program was organized around four strands of leadership: organizational, change, strategic, and interpersonal. Each of these strands of leadership were aligned with and supported the 8 Professional Standards for the Superintendency (American Association of School Administrators, 2005).
  • District Administration's National Superintendents Academy. Learned how to manage a large organization and build an inspired, empowered and accountable culture that supports student achievement and leads to continuous growth and improvement.
