Dr. Paul Samuel Young

Earning a Doctorate of Education in Leadership represents a major academic and professional accomplishment that reflects years of dedication, discipline, and perseverance. My educational journey includes completing a Master of Science in Management, a Bachelor of Science in Liberal Arts, an Associate of Science degree, and earning certification as a Certified Online Instructor and Facilitator. Throughout my academic career, I focused on leadership development, adult education, organizational management, and the importance of mentorship and community engagement. My research focused on the effects of stress and loneliness on adult education participation after the COVID-19 pandemic, exploring how emotional and social challenges affected adult learners pursuing educational success.

As an educator and facilitator, I have developed and led instructional programs designed to support student learning, leadership growth, and professional development. I have experience building syllabi, facilitating online and hybrid learning environments, mentoring adult learners, and creating engaging educational experiences that promote critical thinking and academic success. My work as a facilitator extends beyond the classroom by helping individuals develop confidence, resilience, and leadership skills that can be applied both professionally and personally. Through education, I strive to empower others to overcome adversity and pursue lifelong learning opportunities.

In the United States Navy, I have served honorably as a Commander (O-5), leading Sailors, officers, and aviation personnel in demanding operational environments. My Navy career has included leadership in aviation operations, training management, flight deck safety, and professional military education. I have facilitated leadership development sessions, operational training programs, and mentorship initiatives focused on mission readiness, accountability, teamwork, and professional growth. I also contributed to advanced operational and research initiatives that supported aviation readiness, safety improvements, and fleet effectiveness.

My accomplishments as a Navy leader and educator are grounded in a commitment to mentorship, service, and leadership excellence. I have guided Sailors through career advancement, warfare qualifications, and leadership preparation while fostering a culture built on discipline, integrity, and teamwork. Through both education and military service, I continue to advocate for leadership development, community empowerment, and creating opportunities for others to succeed. My involvement in organizations such as Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Inc. and Lambda Theta Alpha Honor Society further reflects my dedication to scholarship, mentorship, and service to the community.
