I am a highly motivated and skilled pharmaceutical scientist with extensive research experience in the fields of cancer drug delivery and photodynamic therapy (PDT). My academic journey began with a Ph.D. at the National Chemical Laboratory (CSIR-NCL) in India, where I focused on synthesizing PLGA copolymers for cancer treatment and developing nanofibers for transdermal drug delivery.
Following the completion of my Ph.D., I was awarded the prestigious Newton Bhabha Fellowship, which allowed me to work at the Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences, King's College London, UK, for a brief period. This experience broadened my perspective on international collaborations and cutting-edge research in the pharmaceutical field.
Continuing my passion for academia and research, I joined Dr. D.Y. Patil Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences and Research, Pune, India, first as an Assistant Professor in August 2019. During this time, I honed my teaching skills and mentored aspiring pharmaceutical students while simultaneously conducting research projects.
In September 2021, I took on the role of Adjunct Professor at the same institution, contributing my expertise to both teaching and research. As an Adjunct Professor, I continued to inspire and guide students while pursuing my own research interests.
Furthermore, in November 2021, I was appointed as a Postdoctoral Research Associate in the United States under the prestigious NIH fellowship. During this tenure, my research has focused on several critical areas, including developing vesicular formulations for enhanced drug delivery in bladder cancer, exploring PDT for breast and colon cancer treatment, investigating in-situ photo vaccination in combination with checkpoint inhibitors and adjuvants, and improving the safety and efficacy of Paclitaxel pro-drugs loaded mPEG-PLA micelles.
Throughout my career, I have demonstrated a strong commitment to advancing pharmaceutical science and healthcare, seeking innovative solutions to tackle cancer and drug delivery challenges. My diverse research experience has equipped me with a deep understanding of both academia and industrial applications, and I continue to contribute to the development of novel therapeutic strategies in the fight against cancer.
I am passionate about pushing the boundaries of scientific knowledge, fostering collaborations, and making meaningful contributions to the field of pharmaceutical sciences. As I progress in my career, my goal is to translate cutting-edge research findings into practical applications that positively impact patient care and the pharmaceutical industry.
