Dr. Ruth Jay

Cave Creek,AZ

Summary

I am a self-declared advocate for children, especially English Language Learners. I just completed my doctoral degree in Educational Leadership and Policy with a minor in Law from the University of Arizona.

I have taught elementary school children ranging from preschool to middle school levels for the last 18 years at Paradise Valley Unified School District.

In my role as a teacher, I have been involved with developing a world language program and a new dual language immersion program, mentoring new teachers, team leading, selling and marketing our Mandarin program, and communicating with families. Eventually, I hope to broadly contribute to the education field, advocating for Arizona's English language learners and developing the best program for them.
