In the role of an executive officer, I was able to bring the hospital into CMS compliance with zero deficiency. Upon joining the executive team, my strategic planning and restructuring of quality care delivery, successfully attained compliance and ensured optimum care delivery. Following are a few initiatives I instituted:

• Created and integrated evidence based nursing protocols designed to improve patient outcomes. Developed policies to align procedures with hospital strategic initiatives and complied with statutory, regulatory, state and federal guidelines.
• Established resource allocation procedures and investigated complaints registered by patients and family members. Investigated and reported all accidents fully, leveraging new knowledge to improve protections for patients and staff.
• Enforced disease prevention protocols among staff members, patients and visitors.
• Recruited, interviewed, hired and coached employees and promoted high level of care quality to patients.
• Coordinated delivery of exceptional patient care by evaluating workflows and facilitating positive changes.

In my role, my top five imperatives: Commitment to quality; culture of safety; patient-centered care; relationship building; and development of people.

Following is a brief description of initiatives under my leadership:

• Quality Outcomes: Implemented fall prevention program addressing every single fall-out and looking at lessons learned; Implemented case reviews on all fall-outs related to C-Diff and executed strategies to educate staff on prevention; Daisy Recognition received
• Excellence in Patient care and Experience: AIDET, Hourly patient rounding, bedside handoff, and leader rounding initiated
• Professional Growth and Development: Initiated the process of Clinical Ladder
• Cost Effective use of Resources: Formal education initiated for Managers/Directors on productivity, budget, Labor Management Review System, and Optilink; worked closely with Case Mgt to make multidisciplinary process successful; strategies put in place to ensure timely discharge of patients.
• Nursing Satisfaction: Shared governance model instituted
• People Outcomes: Worked with Human Resources to identify RN flight risk; action plans formulated based on the results of AHRQ CPS
• Leadership Quality Outcomes: Chaired Nursing Executive Council and addressed quality, service, people, cost, and growth
• Professional Contributions: Shared evidence based research with Nursing workforce and the importance of being part of professional organization. As the speaker, at the 2016 Nurses' week, was instrumental in encouraging the nursing workforce to take the lead when it comes to quality patient care.

As the Director of Risk Management, was responsible for timely and appropriate review, coordinations of risk management and implementing strategies to reduce risk.

A new Unit that was developed under my leadership. Ongoing monitoring and data collection and analysis, related to the barriers in meeting early discharge needs, led to the success of this Unit. The time from when the order to discharge was written, to the time patient discharged, was averaging to four hours in the absence of Discharge Education Unit. Under my leadership, DEU averaged the time to less than one hour. This was a huge patient and Medical staff satisfier and productive for the organization.

Ongoing physician review responsibilities as it relates to identifying high risk cases and day to day risk mitigation. Routinely assessing and evaluating the overall patient care within the facility (inpatient and outpatient) as it relates to risk management and diligently enforcing high standards.

Responsible for ER, ICU, PCU, OB, Pediatrics, Mother/Baby, OR, PACU, GI, OPS, Med/Sx, Telemetry, Oncology, and all ancillary departments. Expertly plan, coordinate, organize, and direct all operations of the agency. Ensured all departments were adequately staffed with appropriate level of nursing skill/competency. Critical decision making in high stress situations was an ongoing aspect of the position.

Provided thorough supervision for day-to-day operations of the department in accordance with the set policies and guidelines.

Competently rendered care and chemotherapy treatment to complex oncology patients.

Worked effectively within my scope of practice.

Care of patients with critical conditions for changes, improvements or need for intervention.
