• Inspect incoming raw materials for dimensional and/or quality issues. File the corresponding paperwork to have materials returned and/or replaced in a timely manner as to not interrupt production.
• Perform first piece inspection in accordance with manufacturing blueprints. Periodically perform quality inspections on long runs of a single part to ensure tolerances are being meet.
• Document first piece inspections/welding parameters daily on automatic rumble beam welders to ensure the quality and consistency on a product between each shift and operator.
• Pre and post paint inspection of manufactured parts.
• Pre shipping inspections to ensure that the finished goods that are being shipped meet quality standard's.
• Perform periodic visual weld inspections, checking for weld size, profile, and any discontinuities.
• Provide any type of coaching that may be needed in terms of fabrication, fixturing, and welding standards.
• Work with supervisors in other departments to schedule upcoming work not only by ship dates but also by the size and complexity of the job to ensure on time delivery.
• Attend daily production meetings to maintain a broader view of not only what is in front of me but what is coming down the line.
• Help any other supervisor/department in any way I can.
