Work History

Shipping, Receiving & Inventory Controll Manager

FullVision INC
10.2021 - 08.2023
  • I was hired to manage shipping, receiving and production control. My job was to stop the shipping/receiving errors.
  • I set up a pre shipment verification and a staging area so I could sign off on the BOL’s before shipping.
  • The manufacturing manager added inventory control to my responsibilities. Hard count on raw materials, (sheet, plate & tubing) were off by thousands of pounds or hundreds of feet when checking inventory. I found the laser nesting to be off considerably on the flat steel and parts per stick allocated for the tubing off as well. Some laser jobs were off as much as 1500 lbs per order. I made the necessary changes in SYSPRO, our operating system.
  • All areas of my responsibility improved considerably
  • In August 2023 we had a critical drop in sales FV laid off nearly ½ our employees including me.

Production Supervisor

FullVision INC
10.1993 - 05.2020
  • In 1993 I was hired to bring organization to second shift
  • My goals were to provide leadership, improve quality and productivity to second shift
  • After accomplishing our goals, I moved to first shift to improve weld quality and paint quality. I reduced weld rejects, almost immediately, by issuing each welder a letter ID stamp so the welders would take ownership in the parts they welded. This held each welder accountable for the parts they welded.
  • We added the stamp location on the prints, so welders knew where to stamp, and others where to find the stamp.
  • The paint problems were an easy fix. I trained the parts hangers to be inspectors to stop the rejects from being hung on the line
  • We gave them better lighting and training to look for rust, pits and weld spatter and at times missing welds
  • Paint prep is so important, especially when we only have a three-stage washer system
  • Soon they put me in charge of all production, both shifts as Production Supervisor all departments.
  • I have been responsible for as many as 50 plus crew members, fab, weld, paint and assembly
  • In 2020 I moved from production to Process Improvement
  • Sales dropped drastically and I was part of a big layoff.
  • Created and implemented strategies for improving operational efficiency and accuracy.
  • We maintained ISO 9001
  • Cultivated professional working relationships with peers and supervisors.
  • Conducted root cause analysis on production issues for prompt resolution, minimizing negative impacts on output rates.
  • Conducted performance reviews as scheduled, offering praise and recommendations for improvement.
  • Accomplished targets and met demand by assessing equipment performance, reviewing materials supplies, and organizing manpower.

PRODUCTION WELDING

AGCO
06.1993 - 10.1993
  • I welded on the small parts line for about 30 days or so, then the foreman moved me to the liquid tight welding as they were having too many leaks getting through to the next operation
  • I told him I had experience in liquid tight welding on a product called the blue Max, so he moved me to the liquid tight welding project to reduce the leaks they were getting.
  • I immediately had leak free weldments from the very start.
  • He put me in for a $1.35 increase after my 3 months
  • The foreman said he was going to get me to the top as fast as possible
  • However, I noticed Full Vision was looking for a second shift supervisor and decided to apply
  • FV got in touch with the people I worked with in Illinois and left me 5 messages to see how soon I could start
  • I gave the foreman my two weeks’ notice.

PRODUCTION WELDING - Welding Foreman

Southeast Manufacturing
06.1988 - 06.1988
  • No weld positions were open when I quit Construction, so they started me out in the torch department. Optimized material utilization by carefully planning cuts, reducing waste and lowering overall project costs.
  • When weld worked overtime I welded for them and they discovered I had high skill level. I exceeded both in quality and quantity.
  • Weld quality was so bad in their department, they had a " rework department ". After about a year they fired the weld foreman and give the position to me.
  • I gave all welders a letter ID stamp so they would have ownership of what they welded. I initiated weld setting for all to follow.
  • We no longer needed a rework department.
  • Bank of Dallas called our note in 1988 so Southeast sold all product lines and I was there until the very end.
