After graduating from St. Bonaventure, where I served as ASB President, was the captain of the football team, and contributed to a CIF Championship, I continued my athletic career at Portland State University until an injury sidelined me. After recovering, I worked at Iwasuik Ranch and applied to the Ventura County Fire Control Worker Academy, where I was blessed to be accepted last year. Although it was the hardest experience of my life, and It didn’t go as I had intended, I fell in love with the grind and the pain. That experience has driven me to become more determined, better prepared, and ready to return and improve where I fell short last year.
