Some of what my day to day was I would come in and get paperwork ready for the. day then the students would come back onto dorm. During that time I would be in charged of there Accountability, Conflict Resolution, and General Aid they needed throughout the day. I was trained in Basic Life Support and had to deal with medical emergencies at time which included Seizures, Student Fainting, or Overdose. During our monthly evaluations I would bring different students in to get a better understanding and recommend them to different parts of the program
There were times where we would have to deal with student conflict and decide the best course of action in the moment, and during my time there we were always knowing where the students were since the students needed written permission to leave campus from parents or a staff member that could.
Some Key Points of my Job Entailed
We would travel to different tyson plants across Iowa and Nebraska to either do Maintenance work or Concrete work. During my time I worked with Forklift, Skid Loaders, Mud Buckets and a Scissor Lift. There were sometimes that we needed to stick weld, but I only did it once or twice since there were more experience co workers I was with. Near the end of the day we would have to finalize a report to give to the supervisor of the plant and our manager back at the company to show what we all did. the shift times were usually we would leave Friday and come back either Monday or Tuesday just depending on how long the job took us
Some key points of my job
I would come in 2 hours before the rest of the night crew to make sure the prep was done for our shift, if not I would have to do it with the help of another morning crew member. Once the night shift came in I would Assign them to different positions and monitor the rest of the shift. At the end of the day I would do a money count of our four different registers then bank dropped, there were times I had to run to the bank in the middle of the shift to grabbed more just in case we were low.
Some key points of the job
During my time here I worked in different departments including Paint Line and the Warehouse part of the Paint Line, then also Assembly. Majority of my time was working on the Paint Line where we would load unpainted parts onto the line to either get washed or blasted then unload the painted parts onto pallet and use forklifts to bring them to different parts of the Factory. There were times where I needed to paint and work the station after the wash to make sure the parts were dry enough to paint then properly taped off. The warehouse portion was bringing in parts off shelves or from outside making sure they matched the blueprints then bringing them to a different part of the factory. There were times I had to check the email for the warehouse to make sure any high demand parts got through or shortages.
