I’m currently a local 563 union laborer working on the pipeline. I'm most comfortable operating a skid loader, excavator, dozer and roller. I’m looking to continue my career in construction work as I have been in the field for 7 years but am receptive to learning new skill sets. I have a passion for operating equipment and I’m not afraid to work hard to ascend in the company. - Locate/pothole utilities in our excavation path. Gas, power, water, sewer and communication lines.
- Operate vac truck in safe and timely manner.
- Keep jobsite clean of dirt and debris at all times.
- Wear the correct PPE at all times while working on or around the pipeline.
- Be a spotter for the operator at all times possible.
- Install snow fence, biologs, silt fence when needed.
- Setup water pumps and hoses when time calls for them.
- Run jeep around pipe to find defective spots in coating. Make repairs as needed.
- Apply the correct coating to pipe before installing and after installation.
- Install skidracks/ cones under pipe to support it while using rockshield as needed.
- Set trench boxes when times call for it.
- Set concrete forms, dowels and expansion to existing concrete.
- Tie rebar, pour concrete, finish and edge.
- Safely operate partner saw.
- Lay the correct locate ribbon while backfilling. Run plate tamper in the correct lifts to get the correct compaction.
- Firewatch when instructed to.
- Making sure every piece of equipment has a containment underneath it. If all containments are in use build one out of poly.
- Using whipchecks, taglines at all times.
