As a mechanic at sonaca it’s my job to ensure that parts we have coming in are checked for defects. With building parts for planes something as small as a piece of paint missing to something as big as a part that casted wrong are both huge issues in the process. If a part came in wrong it was my job to fix it to quality standards. And if it wasn’t fixable a new part would be issued out. Drilling, sealing, and the use of many more power tools are used daily to produce a piece of a plane.
As a brick pack operator my job was to ensure the line moved collectively and smoothly to ensure deadlines were met and product was packaged to the best quality possible checking for leaks and label positioning constantly to ensure the product reached quality standards 100% of the time . The machines ability to run was also the operator’s responsibility’s servicing minor issues such as sensor issues and label positioning issues and film getting jammed in the cross cutting process. Paperwork was filled out once an hour with any label used on the product to ensure dates, times, and sku numbers matched
