Work History

Summer Intern

The Georgia Institute of Technology
06.2024 - Current
  • Attended a summer internship program at the Laboratory of Intelligent Decision and Autonomous Robotics (LIDAR) under Assistant Professor Ye Zhao and one of his graduate students, Mr
  • Chaitanya Mehta
  • Learned about engineering and design in a laboratory setting as well as the fabrication and use of a type of tactile sensor called GelSight
  • Built a replacement foot for the robot that used a different pattern of GelSight in order to get better readings
  • Learned more about using SolidWorks and practiced running simulations using the specifications of different materials
  • Participated in coding the robot to use the GelSight sensor to identify different terrains it is standing on

Rookie

01.2024 - Current
  • Participated in the 2024 GRITS (Georgia Robotics Invitational Tournament and Showcase)
  • Helped with scouting other teams and helped repair and modify our robot between matches
  • Help CAD and build our new robot’s chassis for the 2025 season kickoff
  • Designed 3D printed mounts for our robot’s Spark Max Motor Controllers, radio, and camera
  • Teach FTC team members about linear slides, CAD, and coding
  • Attended two competitions in Albany and Dalton, winning the team sustainability award at Albany

Team Captain

01.2023 - 01.2024
  • Helped build the team’s competition robot, including the drivetrain, intake, and linear slide
  • Helped code for the robot’s Autonomous period and coded most of the attachments
  • Mentored three rookies who moved up from the FIRST Lego League and showed them how to code in Java and build with metal
  • We ranked 11th overall in the League Tournament and were eliminated in the 1st round
  • We did not advance to the State Championship

Team Captain

01.2022 - 01.2023
  • Helped build the team’s competition robot, including the claw and linear slide it was mounted on
  • Also coded much for the Autonomous period and the robot’s attachments
  • The team ranked 9th in the competition and was chosen into an alliance but did not advance to the State Championship
  • Presented an online team engineering notebook that Silver Titans helped create at the FIRST Symposium

Team Member

01.2021 - 01.2022
  • Moved to the build team but remained back-up driver and human player
  • Mentored 2 new team members on designing, building, and coding
  • Participated in the FTC League Tournament and ranked 1st overall in the qualifying matches, but our robot’s code failed due to Wi-fi issues, and we were eliminated
  • During the off-season, the team helped the Girl Scouts of Atlanta set up a robotics program and showcased our robot at the Computer Museum of Atlanta

Rookie

01.2020 - 01.2021
  • Participated in the virtual League Tournament robot game as a back-up driver and human player
  • Helped with coding and drafting the Control award submission
  • Won the Control Award and advanced to the State championship
  • Participated in the virtual State Tournament and the team won 3rd place for the Control Award
  • During the off-season, the team participated in an outreach event Robot Day at the Fernbank Museum where we showcased our robot and taught kids about robotics
