I graduated from Lenoir Community College (July 31st, 2024) with an Associate in Applied Science, Computer Integrated Machining. During my time at Lenoir Community College, I learned the use of water jets, milling machines, lathes, grinders, drill presses, band saws, blasting booths. I am capable of using Fusion 360 software to generate 2D programs and then export as a dxf files to such equipment as water jets and CNC Haas mills and lathes. As well as advanced shop, mathematics, including trigonometric and geometric formulas to make the computations necessary to perform tasks such as laying out work; setting up machine tools by selecting appropriate collets or drill chucks to machine pieces at unusual or compound angles, and determining exact angles and dimensions needed. I am proficient in the utilization of common hand tools as well as precision equipment such as micrometers, dial indicators, dial calipers, steel rules, drill gauges, compasses, levels, wrenches, feeler gauges, thread gauges, files and pneumatic grinders. I am also experienced in reading and interpreting complex drawings and blueprints, calculating dimensions and tolerances using knowledge of mathematics (geometry, trigonometry) and part drawings / standards. Ability to set up, adjust and operate all machine tools in order to perform precision machining operations while holding .0002" tolerances. I have a good understanding of metallurgy, stainless steels 304/316/416, carbon steels, plastics, nylons and composites. Complete understanding of common gauges & measuring instruments (gauge blocks, micrometers, calipers, height gauge, depth gauge, bore gauges. Proficiency in reading and understanding CNC programs (G&M codes). Setup and run CNC programs I generated with Fusion 360 software on lathes and vertical milling machines. Responsible for keeping equipment and work area clean and orderly and perform basic preventive maintenance functions on equipment.
