I have been diving year-round since 2017, and I love the sport. I made the national dive team in 2018 and 2019, qualifying as a finalist six times. Throughout the years, I have become familiar with the sport, and the skills necessary to dive at different levels, for example, beginners, intermediate, or advanced. Most importantly, I continuously learn from my common dive mistakes, especially by listening to my coaches.
I volunteered during lunch, or recess, with children with autism. I volunteered from 3rd grade to 5th grade and always enjoyed playing with the kids at recess and eating lunch. This experience taught me how to be patient, address a broad audience respectfully and kindly, while still getting my point across. Being able to address an audience different from your age is helpful to coaching younger kids.
Upcoming: I plan to attend a lifeguard certification training by end of May 2024.
