Professional Highlights

  • Revived and refocused Hermosillo Mexico Plant operations into a Best-in-class, Customer Centric operation - directly contributing to improved customer experience, increased contract value, and 2-fold revenue growth within three years. I was invited to their 25 anniversary and the plant has continued with our operational excellence journey and is now the best plant within the organization and employees over three thousand employees.
  • Shingo Prize Board of Examiners awarded us due to the successful development and scale-up of Puerto Rico manufacturing facility into a world-class operation. Facility documented lean achievements include reduced manufacturing cycle times, slashed inventories, improved on-time delivery, among other significant improvements. Recognized as the best plant that they had visited, where our support functions were so close to the production team.
  • I won the Presidents Award 2002 and the Chairman Award 2009, also, received multiple recognitions for plant performance and commended for influencing exceptional cohesiveness in manufacturing support, department integration, and cross function collaboration across all business units including product development, sales, human resources, engineering, supply chain, among others. This reward was a well-deserved achievement for all our employees.
  • Improved company-wide project quality management and compliance by establishing a Puerto Rico Center of Excellence technical consultant group that covered the entire Tyco Safety Product Organization. Two key engineering projects alone generated over $8M a year.
  • My KPI charts and tracking system improve the overall business performance by implementing in all businesses I have worked for.

Reading & Playing Golf

Since employees at all levels of the organization need training, development, and need to be heard, empowered; we all need to study the subject.

I  continuously read topics that help me get closer to our employees and try to understand  their behavior and determine how I can be of help. Books on Emotional Intelligence, Servant Leadership are among the topics I enjoy the best. Employees well coached are a winning proposition for the entire organization.

I enjoy playing golf every Saturday (if possible), my handicap is 15. We have a foursome that has been playing golf together for over 25 years, and we all worked together in the Sensormatic/Tyco plant in Puerto Rico.

Additional Information

I did worked with Ernst & Young (one of the big four CPA firm) for four years and this is where my career started. I was also a Director of Internal Controls for the largest supermarket chain in Puerto Rico at the time, and Financial Controller of a couple more.
