• Operate linear accelerators, simulators, computers, imaging devices, and other specialized equipment used in delivering radiotherapy treatments.
• Monitor patients during treatments, ensuring accurate positioning and delivery of prescribed doses of radiation.
• Maintain records of patient treatments, including dose information and other relevant data.
• Adhere to all safety standards when working with radioactive materials.
• Review charts for accuracy prior to submitting them for review by a physician.
• Provide emotional support to patients undergoing painful or difficult treatments.
• Use radiation therapy equipment to deliver prescribed dosages to specific body parts.
• Maintain continuous functionality of radiation therapy equipment and reported malfunctions to management.
• Prepare or construct immobilization, treatment or protection devices.
• Educate patients about their treatment plan, potential side effects, and safety precautions they should take during and after their course of radiation therapy.
