I have developed strong collaboration and communication skills over time. I am currently looking to transition into new field and gain knowledge as I believe that the pen and the camera is greater than the sword. What we document matters because the world is watching. Growing up in a country that is predominantly corrupt has taught me this lesson countless times. As we move into the next century we must reflect and collaborate with others to make work that not only represents our values but informs without bias.
I volunteered asa a data entry analyst and photographer within regions 4 and 7 in Guyana. In that time I helped create ID cards for persons with disabilities so they can get the help they needed no matter where they went for medical attention. I also spent a significant amount of time verifying registration and data collection of persons with disabilities.
I volunteered and graduated in my country's first several week program dedicated to film, journalism and television production. During that time I developed my writing style and learnt the importance of having a unique voice, we also learnt the value of the moving image and how it can impact the larger world around us.
In that time I helped students from impoverished communities within my country Guyana specifically the Georgetown area with their school curriculums during their break. We specifically explored literature, mathematics and Caribbean history at the camp.
I'm an excellent negotiator and conversationalist I also thrive in a team spirited environment as I believe collaborative work is very essential
