Extracurricular Activities
Leader/founder of Latinx/Hispanic affinity club:
- In this club we foster community and connection between music, food and dance. I was able to create a family dinner that consists of all the Latinx/Hispanic people at our school to come together. Additionally I have led my club to raise over $300 dollars that will go towards future events and connections.
DEI committee + SDLC trip:
- Diversity, Equity and Inclusion. In the committee a group of students curate a curriculum that teaches these things, with sub topics such as identity and economic status.
- SDLC trip is the Student Diversity Leadership Conference I was selected to attend in 2023 St Louis Missouri. This trip teaches students to be a mentor for DEI topics, specifically to students that attended PWI (predominantly white institutions). Additionally, helping form connections through affinity.
ROOTS Club:
- A affinity group that accepts all ethnicities and identifiers and teaches about different cultures.
Multi Racial Affinity Club:
- The group's purpose is to create and embed a workplace where ethnic diversity is celebrated, encouraged and championed to motivate colleagues.
