United States Navy: HT5 Before Discharge(Hull Technician)
TWIC Card: Current
Federal Background: Cleared
Conducted manual machining processes on submarine propulsion systems for the USNavy. DOD contract work requiring PCL secret clearance for AS901000 projects and worked tight tolerance levels of +.0001-.0001 on HBMs, VTLs, Mills, OD and ID grinders, and Lathes. ASMEQA1 requirements for Nuclear Reactor parts and their components to be within the parameters of those specifications without fail.. everytime.
Manual Machining of turbine components and the assembly of turbines. Operated OD and surface grinders to +/-.0001 tolerance levels. Turned down compression wheels for turbines on turret lathes and VTLs. Set up HBMs for split lines on turbine casings and did line boring with bearing housings and collars. Machined my own boring bars for line boring. Machined turbine shafts on manual lathes to within .0001 OEM tolerances and ISO standards. Machined custom mandrels for inner and outer races for bearings to press fit on those shafts. Reclaimed turbine blades/buckets for compression wheels and steam turbine wheels to include balancing them using balancing machines. Ran concentricity tests for fits I machined to meet OEM standards and used liquid nitrogen to shrink them to the fits. Machined turbine journals and did log tests on stage one turbine wheels. Heat treated and stressed parts for turbines to include rings and collars for turbines using ovens and temperance processes.
Machined turbine wheels and their components, including the blades/buckets to +.0003-.0003 ISO tolerance levels. Prototype machining for Doosan, Sulzer, SpacEx, and GE Verona on turbine wheels and components directly in communication with the engineers who designed them ensuring tight tolerance and precise specifications. Fabricated and machined stressed rings and TIG welding babbitt rings for turbines. Interpreted and followed detailed blueprints and schematics. Conducted electrical and mechanical assembly. Operated VTLs, manual mills, and lathes to produce high-quality one time only parts in a hot-job shop 70 hours a week.
Conducted ISO repairs on turbines and turbo components. Operated manual mills, lathes, VTLs, and HBMs with extreme precision. Manufactured new parts for turbines and turbos using high tolerance techniques(+/-.0003) Utilized micrometers for accurate measurements and machined Inconel, monel, stainless, and chrome alloys only to include nickle alloys. Performed both electrical and mechanical assembly tasks on turbine systems integrating complex components efficiently as a Millwright field position. Held and performed at project inside WAPA Power plant located in St. Croix US Virgin Islands 2018-Scope: 7FA Gas-Turbine/Generator project. Duties included take off line and implement lock-out tag-out(LOTO) "safety assurance procedure", then Initiated Disassembly process where myself and teammates performed hot gas path procedure to include replacing combustion components with new parts,(crossfire tubes and fuel nozzles) inspected and cleaned all components with verification checks. Reassembled Turbine. Removed End Bell on generator, inspected hydrogen seals I machined and also horoscoped around stator for loose parts and debris. Released back to client to OEM specifications and put back online to the Power Grid inside scheduled maintenance time frame.
Manually machined submarine propulsion parts, oil and gas production parts, ensured repairs and estimates on projects, to meet exacting standards. Operated the worlds largest VTL, a Niles lathe with a 180" swing, and some of the largest VTLs with extreme and constant tight tolerances of +/-.0005. Engaged in electrical and mechanical assembly processes, ensuring all parts were correctly installed and operational. Performed reclaim and one time only hot-jobs constantly alongside engineers.
Forman over 28 men bringing in 400,000tons of stainless steel and aluminum for prefabrication of complete water treatment plants sent out of the State to the rest of the country. Managed all calibration of machines, components, shifts, and timecards. Oversaw safety and quality control. Programmed all plasma machines and one with a 40' table with 2" stainless capability. Conducted interviews and hiring. Welding test coordination and test manager. Organized and communicated with the industries partners and satisfied absolutely every customer we had.
Supervised and managed 12 Machinists to make them successful in every way possible for our customers to be satisfied. Machined water well parts, API threading, Executed electrical, and mechanical assembly for pumps and pump parts. Laser and alignment equipment for pumps to motors and carried out maintenance of manual machines. Blue print interpretation and adjusting. Machined custom shafts and well parts. QC and daily inspections to keep my team on point.
Machined inner and outer races for bearing on industrial turbos in electrical plants. Made turbo shafts for industrial turbos and used balancing machines to balance turbos. Reclaimed and welded on aluminum compression wheels, machined shafts, and components for turbos. Assisted in teardowns and rebuilds for industrial turbos and blowers. Machined oil and gas parts to include downhole pumps for pump jacks and downhole tooling for wireline services.
