  • A Program Manager assists the people we support to promote independence to lead a self-directed life and contribute to the community
  • A Program Manager acts as an advocate for the people we support by understanding and assisting to communicate their needs and desires objectively without personal bias
  • Assist with activities of daily living as needed, and encourage attitudes and behaviors that enhance community inclusion by Role modeling appropriate social interactions
  • A Program Manager may provide support to people at home, work, school, church, and other community places
  • Follow all safety practices established by Upstate Cerebral Palsy
  • Assist, support, direct and coach DSP staff and managers to work in conjunction with people we support to maintain a clean living environment (home, bedroom, kitchen, and living area), cook meals, complete grocery shopping, banking or any other activity of daily living or Independent Living Activity needed
  • Pass medications as an AMAP according to OPWDD rules, regulations and agency policy and ensure the assigned AMAP passes medications following regulation and agency policy
  • Program Managers not currently certified will be offered AMAP certification
  • Ensure all habilitation plans, behavior support plans, dining plans, nursing services, individual protective oversight plans are completed within required timeframes and trained to all staff and staff can competently implement plans
  • Ensure system is in place for completion of all necessary daily documentation (habilitation documentation, medical behavior notes, family contacts, behavior documentation, incident reports, employee injury reports, any additional documentation required by program and/or agency)
  • Ensure documentation is present to support program billing for services
  • Report any property damage to home, vehicles or the property and personal adaptive equipment of the people we support
  • Ensure equipment is maintained: wheelchairs cleaned, walkers and other equipment used by the people we support
  • Ensure agency vehicles are maintained/cleaned and filled with gas
  • Ensure all program exits are clean and clear of obstacles and snow during winter months
  • Manage and implement processes for staffing, time off, vacancies, overtime, budget, hiring
  • Manage overall residential staffing plan
  • Ensure the approved staffing plan is maintained including management of approved FTE's and master schedule
  • Manage overtime to ensure budget is maintained and staff remain safe
