Work History

Director of Finance

Pepper Equipment CO.
01.2023 - Current
  • Company Overview: Conveying Manufacturing, Equipment, Parts, and AI Solutions (15MM to 25MM)
  • As a Director of Finance, I focus on providing sound business information to the owners of the company so that they can make decisions based on accurate, timely, and reliable information.
  • Ensuring that the company is financially secure, profitable, and in compliance with its various obligations.
  • In relation to my performance achievements and targets, I was able to align the operations to the strategy based on processes, culture, governance, FP&A, cost controlling, and pricing modeling, adjusted to the target profit margins.
  • Worked on accounting clean-up and financial statement presentation, which includes revenue classification and recognition, inventory, WIP, customer and supplier advances, budgeting, financial evaluation by KPIs, Big Picture presentation, and monthly, quarterly, and annual recommendations.
  • The growth that the company has experienced in the financial plan I have worked on has been 6% in its first year, 10% to 12% in the current year, with an average projection of 18% at the end of 2025.
  • From the cash flow strategy, the company has maintained low debt and natural growth. This includes monitoring the flow, where the surplus is invested in CDs, and yields are obtained. The above, aligned to a plan, allows the company to have funds to reinvest, expand, and grow in the long term in a sustainable manner, along with employee retention and benefit plans.
  • Conveying Manufacturing, Equipment, Parts, and AI Solutions (15MM to 25MM)
  • Other duties: AP, AR, Payroll, Inventory, and Sales Tax oversight, Bank Re-conciliations, Investment Evaluations, Month end duties, Audit follow up and Tax planning, training to culture needs

Sam Pecan Company
Juarez City
04.2016 - 06.2022
  • Company Overview: Food Manufacturing, (150MM to 160MM)
  • My role in this company was initially focused on the function of controller (rolling up sleeves), preparing the financial operations for their subsequent alignment in a role as CFO.
  • This implied the transition of financial operations (MEX-USA Full Cycle), which were outsourced to carry them out on-site, hiring people, and segregating activities according to their needs.
  • Worked on capital structure design, systems to be used, processes, HR activities, hiring of key personnel, purchasing, sales, finance, etc., compliance reporting, tax planning and filing, FP&A, cost accounting, cost controls, financial planning, variance analysis, and financial evaluation by KPIs.
  • Of the above, in my role as strategic CFO, the expansion plan stands out, which I modeled and involved the acquisition of an orchard in Mexico, a warehouse in Fabens, TX, which later expanded into a facility, and a business unit facility in El Paso, TX.
  • The project encompassed the network, which later expanded into a facility and a facility business unit in El Paso, TX.
  • The project covered around 20 mm, which impacted sales growth by 20%, jumping from 8 to 9 figures.
  • Other duties include negotiation with vendors, companies' legal deals and contacts, accounts payable, accounts receivable, bank reconciliations, treasury and payroll oversight, bank loan reporting, general risk assessment and compliance management, audit follow-up, training to meet cultural needs, internal audit, and IT follow-up.

Additionally, I was responsible for the internal audit of the financial operations of its different locations.
  • I was in the transition from taking the operations on-site at the point of sale to changing them remotely in virtual mode. I supervised these operations, from the administrative to the financial point of view. This meant staying in business without the cost of rent at the point of sale.
