Since I was 16 years of age I’ve been working with my father, grandfather and uncle with various projects in different lines of work. I help my dad with carpentry projects such as framing on houses, putting up sheetrock, laying down flooring, (wood and tile), insulation, HVAC, plumbing and laying down brick. We also install breakers, breaker boxes, electrical lines (wiring), electrical outlets, ceiling fans, and conduit. With my uncle we also conduct a number of different projects such as pouring foundation or concrete for houses, driveways, carports, patios, baseball dugouts, and basketball courts. We also have fabricated smokehouses for cooking, tool cages, and handicap ramps. My grandfather and I concentrate more on metal fabrication. This consists of a lot of welding, cutting with a torch and precise measuring. We build a lot of bar b que pits, trailers, and sheds using pipe, square tubing, angle iron, sheet metal, expanded metal, c channel, I beams, smooth bar, rebar, and stainless steel. I also do mechanic work which consists of troubleshooting and repairing (or replacing) electrical wiring, fuses, alternators, water pumps, starters, spark plugs, spark plug wires, engine gaskets, suspension, breaks, fuel lines, differential, drive train, and some transmissions. During the long gaps in my work history I was doing the side jobs listed above.
