QA Technician

Peterbilt Motors Co.
Denton, TX
01.2011 - 08.2023
  • My responsibilities involved identifying the appropriate charges for rejected parts. If the rejection was attributed to an issue within the plant, I would proceed to dispose of the parts. Conversely, if the rejection stemmed from a supplier-related problem, I would contact the supplier to request a Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA) for the return of the part for further analysis.
  • When it was necessary to scrap parts, I would categorize them by material type (such as metal, aluminum, plastic, and waste for energy recovery) and deposit them into the corresponding scrap hopper. Once a hopper reached capacity, I would utilize a forklift to transfer it to the designated roll-off container or compactor.
  • Implemented a rework program that generated over $100,000 in annual savings for the company.
  • During an eight-hour shift, my time was nearly evenly divided between operating a forklift and performing administrative tasks. The latter included responding to emails and phone calls, monitoring rejected parts to maintain accurate inventory records, and completing shipping documentation for the return of parts to the supplier. I regularly employed various software applications, including MS Office, SAP, Copics, among others, to accomplish these duties.
  • I collaborated with production teams, materials personnel, engineers, and management to ensure effective communication regarding any significant volume of rejects or related issue

I have three types of lasers—Diode, Fiber, and CO2—and I love creating and designing laser-engraved products. While I do sell a few of them, I mostly like to give them away or donate to charities.

I enjoy reading and spending time with my family.
