Work History

Business Development Manager- U.S.

ITW Evercoat
09.2000 - 02.2024
  • Increased client base by identifying new business opportunities and cultivating strong relationships with key decision makers. This was a reoccurring trend that I used throughout my career, whether it was at the shops or at any level of distribution including direct-buying jobbers or warehouse distribution.
  • Facilitated regular communication with clients to ensure their needs were met, fostering long-lasting relationships built on trust and mutual respect.
  • Developed customized solutions for clients based on a deep understanding of their unique pain points, delivering exceptional value and driving repeat business, while creating an unbreakable bond of established credibility and that of a bilaterally needed partner.
  • Generated new business with self-created marketing initiatives and strategic plans. Built my book of business in the SoCal market from $1.8M to $5.5M over a 5 year period. I maintained that same level of success at each of my functions at Evercoat. I started as a Territory Manager in 2000 and promoted to Western Zone Manager in 2006 (which eventually covered all of the western half of the U.S. and Texas), and finally in my last 2 years as the Business Development Manager for the U.S.
  • Managed a diverse portfolio of accounts, consistently exceeding revenue targets through upselling strategies and exceptional customer service.
  • Negotiated and closed long-term agreements with new clients in position of Business Development for the U.S. with clients such as PPG, Boyd/ Gerber Collision Group, Classic Collision and others.
  • Identified and pursued valuable business opportunities to generate new company revenue and improve bottom line profit. My last accomplishment was in the opening and closing of an exclusive agreement with Classic Collision at the tail end of last year. Evercoat is currently converting all the business at each location as we speak.
  • Mentored junior team members in effective sales techniques, which included consultative selling techniques, while fostering a high-performance culture within the organization. I am very proud of this accolade as I have led a strong sales team at every step of my career, usually beating every other team or competitor within the company.
  • Leveraged industry events to network with potential clients, generating significant brand exposure and driving new business.
  • Established valuable partnerships with complementary businesses, creating mutually beneficial synergies that accelerated growth for both parties. Over the years, I have established strong partnering relationships with both paint companies such as: Axalta/ Dupont, PPG, BASF, Sikkens and Sherwin Williams; and distributors such as: National Oak Distributors (and all their acquired companies- PBE CA, PBE Jobbers, A&H), Finishmaster/ LKQ, PWI, English Color, Wesco/ Kemperle, Industrial Finishes, Martin Auto Color, Tasco, NCS/ Single Source, APH and other regional jobbers across the country.
  • Collaborated with upper management to implement continuous improvements and exceed team goals.
  • Held one-on-one meetings with sales team members to identify selling hurdles and offered insight into best remedy.
  • Resolved problems with high-profile customers to maintain relationships and increase return customer base. I seemed to have become the go-to person, on both sides wherever relationships hit a roadblock and solutions were in need.
  • Demonstrated products to show potential customers benefits and advantages and encourage purchases successfully throughout my career at many different levels.
  • Exceeded sales quotas and increased profitability through effective sales strategy and business planning. Again, I did this throughout my career and at different levels with different audiences which included end-user and major/ minor distribution. My prime goal was to continually inspire confidence in my brand.
