As a student at UCR, I was given instructions and asked to accomplish the goal for that day's lab. This would include tasks such as a simple titration to a little more complex tasks such as protecting a carbohydrate by acetalization of a methyl-glucopyranoside, as well as catalytic alkene hydrogenation. I was also able to gain knowledge in reading graphs and charts such as IR spectrums, and NMR spectrums. Averaging more than 90 percent out of 100 on most lab reports and almost a 100 percent success rate for every lab goal

Job duties ranged from simple house clean up, to hardscapes, Palm Tree climbing/trimming, and mechanical maintenance for all our supplies and machinery. I learned garden work, heavy lifting, Landscape work, PVC irrigation, Masonry, Cement work, and Landscape electrical light setup, and simple mechanic work all while in the Palm Springs heat and much of middle school and high school.
