• Provide high-acuity postoperative care for complex cardiothoracic and vascular surgery patients, including CABG (on/off pump), robotic and thoracotomy approaches, radial/vein harvests, pericardiectomy, endocarditis, LAA clipping, AAA repair, and carotid endarterectomy.
• Manage advanced hemodynamic monitoring using PA catheters/Swan-Ganz: interpret PA pressures, CVP, CO/CI, SVR, SVO2, and RAP to guide critical interventions.
• Titrate vasoactive infusions, inotrops/inodilators, sedation drips; perform TOF monitoring and paralytic titration.
• Perform continuous EKG and 12-lead ECG interpretation with rapid recognition of dysrhythmia; manage external A/V pacing systems and interpret pacing modes.
• Manage ventilators, perform ABG interpretation, coordinate postoperative weaning, and assist with extubation readiness; support procedures including bedside bronchoscopy, thoracentesis, RSI, and emergent airway interventions.
• Collaborate with IR and cath lab teams for critically ill patients; support emergent CMO cannulation during codes and respond to hospital-wide emergencies.
• Perform central/arterial line care, CVC/arterial line setup and waveform interpretation, dialysis catheter management, and assist with PICC/Mahurkar placements.
• Monitor renal replacement therapies (CRRT, HD, PD) and coordinate care with nephrology.
• Manage drains, tubes, wound care, chest tubes, JP drains, NG/OG insertion, TPN/tube feeds, fluid warmers, and complex post-surgical dressing changes.
• Conduct infection prevention, early sepsis recognition, and implementation of evidence-based protocols.
• Deliver compassionate oncology, palliative, and end-of-life care with strong family support and advocacy.
• Lead interdisciplinary communication with intensivists, cardiothoracic surgeons, anesthesia, RT, PT/OT, nephrology, and social services to coordinate safe transitions and individualized care plans.

Skills performed included management of the trauma patient, stabilization in a timely manner, rapid head-to-toe assessment, titration of vasoactive drips, hemodynamic monitoring, hanging sedation medications, induction medications, blood administration, TPN, insulin drips, tube feeds, JP drains, central line management/dressing change, chest tube drain management, NG/OG tube insertion, Foley insertion, IV insertion, manual blood draws, CVC blood draws, fluid warmer/hotline setup and administration, arterial line management, setup and interpretation, neurogenic bladder management, open abdomen and wound vac management, emergent CT scans, management of patients with ORIF and orthopedic traumas, etc. Other skills include 12-lead EKG, arterial line removal, central line removal, suction (open system and closed system), airway management, chest tube management, bedside assistance with rapid sequence intubation, care of the ventilated patient, C-collar precaution and collar care, care and management of endotracheal tubes, open pelvic fracture with binder, oncology care, hospice and palliative patient care, postmortem care, wound care, burn ICU experience (sister unit). Bedside procedure assistance in chest tube insertion, as well as active experience in code roles, and prompt communication to providers and specialty teams during a crisis.

Direct patient care experience in the operating room setting of Trauma 2 Hospital. Experience in direct assistance for anesthesiology attendings and CRNAs. Experience in the stocking, preparation, and coordination of anesthesia/airway-related supplies. Experience in the preparation and setup for intravenous fluid lines, blood tubing, transfusions, cell saver training, arterial line and central line setup, single lumen general anesthesia intubation assistance, double lumen thoracotomy intubation assistance, video-assisted intubation, video-assisted bronchoscopy, and assistance in ultrasound-assisted TAP blocks. Experienced in anesthesia machine and module setup, calibration and maintenance of anesthesia gases, troubleshooting and testing, and sterilizing machines. Experience in medication preparation, vial-syringe aspiration, and handling and preparation of anesthesia induction agents, narcotics, and Omnicell/Pixus experience. Direct patient preoxygenation and preinduction experience, application of simple face masks, nasal cannula, and assistance with spinal anesthesia/epidural and/or MAC-related anesthesia procedures. Experience in preoperative patient positioning on the operating room table. Experience in using sterile technique and performing sterile procedures.

Experience in providing coordination and allocation of supplies to all the departments within the facility. Ordering, distributing, and tracking house supply items. Inventory control and management. Regular distribution of house supply items as requested to each nursing unit. Ordering necessary supplies from various vendors, including but not limited to pharmacy/house supply medications such as multivitamins, medication orders, medical machinery, wound care supplies, equipment, tube feeding supplies, etc. Experience in the administration of various products to patients with the supervision of the nurse. Assistance when lifting or stacking heavy or bulky items. Following resident dignity, and facility privacy and confidentiality protocols.

Direct patient care experience with ADLs, hygiene, the practice of sterile technique, patient ambulation, manual vital signs, answering call lights, direct communication with Alzheimer's and dementia patients, feeding patients with modified diets, conflict resolution, documentation, provider communication, patient escorting to third-party healthcare facilities, and assistance in minor procedures.
